Meet the Author: Heather Croft
I have been a public school teacher for twenty years and am excited to share my books with you. I created Journey Through a Book to give teachers, parents, and librarians a fresh and fun way to introduce children to a dry subject - the parts of a book. I created Christmas Wishes from a song I wrote based on the actual wishes of my students so they would be motivated to sing in the Christmas Program that year!
I have been a Migrant Program Saturday School teacher for ten years and have served as the Migrant Speech and Debate Coach. Additionally, I have taught Kindergarten through Eighth Graders at young writers programs.
The goals throughout my teaching practice have been literacy, giving every student opportunities to use their authentic voice as well as to develop the ability to advocate for themselves and their families.
